Can I shoot on your location?

One of the questions I often get asked is, “will you come to our office?”

𝐀𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲!

Then they ask, “how much space do you need?”

Selfies With a Purpose?

Self-portraits can be a HUGE confidence booster! It’s not a selfie. Self-portraits are an intentional exercise to slow down and focus on YOU. When we take time to focus on ourselves, the rewards can be immediate and abundant, especially when it’s time for your own headshots and brand photos.

Self-Confidence increases with Self-Portraits

Lots of people feel nervous about getting in front of the camera?

Self-portraits are a fantastic way to:

  • build confidence

  • express your unique personality

  • get ready for your photo session

Here are some tips to help you get started:

1. **Find Your Light:** Good lighting makes all the difference. Natural light from a window is often the most flattering.

2. **Relax and Have Fun:** You have nothing to loose! Play some music, and enjoy the process. You’re out to have a good time!

3. **Experiment** Don’t be afraid to move around, try different poses, try cropping in tight. The more you experiment, the more you'll discover!

4. **Edit a few & be creative** Play with the editing tools on your phone. You’ll be amazed at what you can do!

Most of all, let your personality shine – whether that’s a big smile, a serious look, or something in between.

Remember, the goal is to capture your emotions and increase your confidence.

So grab your camera, take a deep breath, and have a little adventure!

Anchoring Hope Brand Photo Session

We have so many facets to our lives, so many “hats” we wear. I met Rhonda when I was writing and speaking full time.

Atlanta Brand and Portrait Photographer

When Rhonda called to plan a date for coffee I had no idea all the things she wanted to chat about!

I met Rhonda when I was writing and speaking full time. As a literary editor she was at the top of my resource list. Her heart is for people, her skill is well honed, and her personality is delightful. As she told me about expanding her editing business to launching a podcast and a publishing company for self-publishing authors we both bubbled with joy!

It’s especially important for small business brand photography to always aim to show personality, passions, and professionalism in an authentic way. Solo-preneaurs and small businesses will attract their target market best when they connect with them through visual brand photos.

Having a digital drawer full of fresh, brand-centric photos can show off your secret sauce expertise, stand out in the crowded market, and connect with more of your customer/clients. Brand photos are great for all your online platforms and in print needs.

Here’s some of the photos from Anchoring Hope’s brand photo session.

How we see the world around us depends on what’s inside us;

Daliah underneath.jpg

“We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.”

Anaïs Nin

Most of my life I’ve struggled with an attitude of lack. I’ve always set standards for myself to reach, to always be improving. Questioning if:

  • I’m smart enough.

  • I’m successful enough.

  • I’m friendly enough.

In the margin of my bibles are endless questions:

  • Where is my heart not aligned with Jesus’s heart?

  • Where is my attitude still willful, self-serving?

  • Where am offended?

Taking creative photos means learning to see in new ways. Looking for new angles, paying attention to backgrounds, and foregrounds. Seeing lines and patterns through the lens.

This dahlia image is pretty much straight out of camera. It took my breath away.

Because God has been teaching me to see from abundance instead of lack, I could capture the hidden dance of this flower.

How are you seeing? Do you struggle with seeing more lack than abundance?

Try this exercise:

Every morning ask Jesus about His favorite part of yesterday. If you’re like me, it’ll begin to shift things inside and you’ll find abundance of joy and peace in hidden places.

Learning to see in a new way

Flowers in a Wine Glass

Learning to see in a new way

This still life set up happened accidentally.

In my life that hasn’t happened much, but it is happening more and more. Like sneaky little drops of joy that drip from heaven and land like kisses.

I asked for it. I asked God to help me see life in a new way.

He is.

Every day.

And all I do is keep my eyes open.

Questions for seeing in new ways

  • What other types of transparent containers could I use?

  • What other things could I put in glass containers?

  • Where else could I place the flowers?

I would love to hear your thoughts on seeing in new ways!

Leave a comment. Let’s connect!
